Pumpkin Scones

These deep-gold scones are as tasty as they are delectable looking. Everyone needs a solid pumpkin scone recipe in the fall. This one is yours.

 How to make Pumpkin Scones  
Start with the dry ingredients, flour, dark brown sugar ( you can use light brown) baking soda and powder, salt, and pumpkin pie spice.  Place in a bowl, blend all together.

Add cold butter cubes to dry ingredients, and using your fingers or a pastry blender, work into dry ingredients until a coarse crumb texture. Set aside.

Whisk pumpkin, milk, egg, and vanilla until well blended. Pour mixture over dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.

Working on a lightly floured surface, knead the dough a couple of times until it comes together. Roll out the dough into a 10-inch circle, about 1-inch thick. Using a large knife or a pizza cutter, cut the circle like a pizza wedge, making 8 triangles

Place wedges on a prepared baking sheet, and bake in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.

Pumpkin Scones
Glaze scones with spiced or regular glaze and let sit for 15 minutes, grab some coffee or tea, and enjoy! Freshly baked scones will keep well for about 1 week in the fridge when properly stored.
